WINGATE, N.C. – The Georgia College Women's Cross Country program and head coach Steven Cary hit the road this weekend to race in the NCAA Southeast Regional Saturday, Nov. 4 at 9 a.m. at Wingate University.

The Bobcats look to continue a great run this season, not having finished out of the top three in any of their five races this fall. Georgia College will take on the top teams from the Peach Belt Conference (PBC), South Atlantic Conference (SAC) and Conference Carolinas (CC), looking to improve upon last year's 11th place finish.

Senior Katherine Yost (Norcross, Georgia) has buzzed through the competition this year, winning each of the five races, including the first PBC Championship in school history. Yost, the PBC Runner of the Year, finished the 6K at Wingate's Bulldog Stampede in 22:25 Sept. 23, as Georgia College got a preview of the regional course.

Sophomores Grace Lynch (Lawrenceville, Georgia) and Tessa Allen (Atlanta, Georgia) finished 19th and 20th, respectively to guide the Bobcats to third place among the 19 teams at that race.

Yost, Lynch and Allen will join freshman Sydney Brown (Canton, Georgia), sophomores Anna Tipton (Hartwell, Georgia) and Maddy Howe (Dacula, Georgia) and senior Rebecca Winslow (Lawrenceville, Georgia) on the regional lineup for Georgia College.

The top three teams advance to the NCAA Finals, and up to five individuals not on one of those three teams could race at the finals as well.

The school's best finish at the NCAA Regional came in 2009, taking fourth place.
