NEW ORLEANS – The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released the most recent round of region rankings Tuesday, with Georgia College Women's Cross Country keeping the seventh slot in the Southeast Region.

The Bobcat Women took a runner-up finish last weekend in the "Garnet" or non-Division I section of the Winthrop/Adidas Invitational. The Bobcats now have a pair of runner-up spots in their two races this season.

The Bobcats are third among the five Peach Belt Conference (PBC) schools listed, with the University of North Georgia fourth and Augusta University sixth. Flagler College came in eighth and UNC Pembroke ninth. Queens University of the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) maintained the top slot in the region.

The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Sept. 23 at the Bulldog Stampede, hosted by Wingate University. Wingate is ranked fifth in this poll.

The Georgia College Department of Athletics, two-time winners of the PBC Commissioner's Cup and the 2017 PBC Sportsmanship Institution of the Year, sponsors 11 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level. As a Division II program, Bobcat Athletics prides itself on balancing the life of the student-athlete, evidenced by the teams' multiple appearances in post-season competition as well as documented academic success and community-service involvement.
