AUSTIN, Texas – The Collegiate Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) released the 2019 Academic All-America Division II Women's Volleyball teams Tuesday, with Georgia College junior Libby Bochniak (Marietta, Georgia) earning the first such honor in Bobcat Volleyball history.

Taking a spot on the Academic All-America Second Team, Bochniak owns a 4.00 GPA in Biology. A two-time PBC All-Academic honoree, she was named to the All-PBC Second Team in 2018.

"This is an amazing award for Libby," said head coach Gretchen Krumdieck. "She has always been a driven individual and I am not surprised that her academics are getting as much of the spotlight as her athletic ability.  Libby embodies everything that our program stands for and I'm thrilled she is being recognized for all the hard work that she puts in off the court."

The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and College Division. The College Division includes all NAIA, Canadian, two-year schools and other affiliations.

The Georgia College Department of Athletics, two-time winners of the PBC Commissioner Cup and the 2017 PBC Sportsmanship Institution of the Year, sponsors 11 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level. As a Division II program, Bobcat Athletics prides itself on balancing the life of the student-athlete, evidenced by the teams multiple appearances in post-season competition as well as documented academic success and community-service involvement.
