MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Junior Libby Bochniak (Marietta) of the Georgia College Volleyball team (1-2) has been named the first Bobcat Athlete of Week for the new school year.
Bochniak opened the 2019 season with three double-doubles, averaging 4.08 kills and digs per set. The junior outside hitter opened with 23 kills and 14 digs in a 3-2 win over Tusculum University in the opener. The 23 kills is the most in a single match in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) so far this season. She followed that with 19 kills and 20 digs against Limestone College and 11 kills, 19 digs against Lindenwood University. Bochniak hit .283 for the week with a pair of aces. She leads the PBC in kills per set and is fourth in digs per set. Her kills per set number ranks 25th in all of Division II Volleyball.
The Bobcats are back in action Friday, Sept. 13 at the Jaguar Rumble in Augusta, squaring off with Emmanuel College.
