Taylor Svehla Named to All-American Honorable Mention List

LEXINGTON, Ky.. – Georgia College Volleyball’s Taylor Svehla (Cumming, Georgia) has been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) list of All-American Honorable Mentions, the first player to receive an award of this kind in program history.

Svehla will receive the program’s top individual honor thus far after also being named First Team All-Region. No player was more deserving of these honors than Svehla, who was a dominant force on the front line for the Bobcats throughout her career.

Svehla, also named the Peach Belt Conference Co-Player of the Year, had a spectacular senior season for the Bobcats. Svehla recorded 397 kills and hit .307% this season. Svehla also led the PBC in solo blocks (28) and total blocks (116) in 2018.

Svehla’s impressive career at Georgia College came to a close, but not before Svehla wrote her name all across the Georgia College record books. Svehla leaves the program first in kills (1,253), points (1,591), total blocks (384),  solo blocks (74) and many other single season and all-time records.
