ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. —The Georgia College Volleyball team (11-9, 4-4 PBC) fell in four sets to Flagler College (10-11, 4-3 PBC) Friday night in Peach Belt Conference (PBC) action at Flagler Gymnasium.
The Bobcat women claimed a dramatic third set victory to extend the match to the fourth set, edging out the Saints 27-25 after dropping the first two sets. Taylor Svehla (Cumming, Georgia) had three consecutive kills to extend give the Bobcats the lead late in the set. The senior middle blocker finished with 12 kills on the night. Libby Bochniak (Marietta, Georgia) joined her in double-digit kills with 11. Bochniak notched the lone Bobcat double-double by also picking up 11 digs.
In spite of the momentum swing, Flagler stormed back to clinch the match in the fourth set behind dominant play from Tara Savisky and Karlie Redfern. The Saints outscored Georgia College 25-15 in the final frame.
Senior setter Kayla Brockway (Jacksonville, Florida) added 34 more assists to her already impressive career total, powering the offense throughout the contest. Libero Jordyn Moellering (Cumming, Georgia) anchored the defense, leading the team with 18 digs.
The Bobcats return home October 26 to take on UNC Pembroke in the first of the final two home contests of the 2018 campaign. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
