TUCSON, Ariz. – The latest round of Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Rankings were released Wednesday, with Georgia College Women's Tennis (12-6, 5-3 PBC) maintaining the No. 39 slot in the country.
The Bobcats also placed two individuals in the national singles ranks for the first time this season. Sophomore Emilia Richter (Berlin, Germany) maintains her No. 59 rank, while joining her is senior Valeria Lopez (Galicia, Spain) at No. 74.
Richter is 9-8 on the season, all in the top slot for GC. She's taken on five nationally-ranked opponents this season. Lopez is a team-best 15-2 with a 7-1 record in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC). She owns wins in nine of her last 10 bouts.
Georgia College is one of five nationally-ranked teams from the PBC, led by No. 6 Columbus State University. The University of North Georgia is 11th, followed by No. 18 Flagler College and No. 36 USC Aiken.
The Bobcats have two nationally-ranked teams left on the schedule, playing at No. 11 UNG today and at No. 15 Wingate University Friday, April 12.
