MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The No. 41 Georgia College Women's Tennis team (11-3, 5-0 PBC) continued their Peach Belt Conference (PBC) unbeaten run by downing Georgia Southwestern State University (6-8, 0-4 PBC) 7-0 Saturday at the Centennial Center Tennis Facility.
A clean sweep of all three doubles matches paced the Bobcats to a perfect start for the day.
The third-doubles pairing of Paula Garriga (Centelles, Spain) and Kim Yatribi (Frejus, France) dominated Charli Allen and Kendall Crew 6-2 to claim the first win. In the second slot, Emilia Richter (Berlin, Germany) and Jordan Bowie (Macon) sealed the team point with a 6-2 performance over Celia del Castillo and Sophia Winters. Valeria Lopez (Galicia, Spain) and Emma Fleming (Suwanee) rounded out the sweep, beating Hannah Hogg and Maria Taboada, 6-3.
In singles play, Lopez made quick work of del Castillo, surrendering just a single game in a 6-0, 6-1 rout. Yatribi followed with an impressive performance of her own, erasing Winter 6-2, 6-0. In the fourth slot, Fleming secured the overall victory, picking up the fourth point by defeating Allen 6-3, 6-2.
No. 58 Richter, Bowie, and Garriga each picked up wins in their singles contests to complete the sweep.
Richter outpaced Hogg 7-5, 6-0 in top-flight singles, Bowie blanked Alexandria Rhodes with a pair of 6-0 sets, and Garriga finished off Crew 6-2, 6-3.
The win pushes the team's win streak to three and stretches their home unbeaten run to eight matches. They return to action Sunday, March 31 for Sea of Green and Senior Day. Each of the senior's singles matches will be broadcasted live on the Bobcat Broadcast Network's YouTube channel. Georgia College will take on No. 9 Columbus State University.
