MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Junior Hannah Serdinia (Suwanee) of Georgia College's Women's Tennis team is this week's Bobcat Athlete of the Week after a perfect 3-0 week of singles and doubles play.
Serdinia first saw action in Saturday's home match against the University of West Alabama. Her tight doubles victory with teammate Emma Niemi (Cumming) helped accelerate the Bobcats to their 16th win for this season.
The Bobcats then headed to Florence, South Carolina, to face Peach Belt Conference (PBC) foe No. 32 Francis Marion University Sunday. Serdinia and Niemi topped two Patriots in another tough doubles match. Serdinia also edged Anilu Barraza Araiza in a singles match, 7-5, 5-7 and 10-6. The Bobcats finished 6-3 over Francis Marion, giving them their first home loss of the season.
For the season, Serdinia is 12-4 in doubles.
Next up, the Bobcats face No. 50 USC Aiken at home for a special Senior Day and Thunder Cup Event. The action begins at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 10 at the Centennial Center courts.
