MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Junior forward Cassie Balzano (Douglasville) of the Georgia College Soccer team (2-5-2, 1-1-1 PBC) has been named Bobcat Athlete of the Week for her efforts during the week ending Oct. 6. She is the first two-time recipient of the honor this season.
Balzano became the sixth player in school history to record a hat trick, scoring all three goals Saturday in the win over Georgia Southwestern State University. She netted one in the first half, with two more in the second. Balzano has already passed her goal total from a season ago, and has 15 in her career. In Saturday's action she moved into seventh place in school history for goals scored, passing Anya Mancinelli (2018).
The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m., hosting Francis Marion University.
