MACON, Ga. – Former Georgia College standout Sofia Lekas (2018) has joined Division I Mercer University as a graduate assistant coach for its women's soccer team.
Lekas will be reunited with her former assistant coach, as Matt Seib began his stint as assistant coach for the Bears in the spring.
Last season's team leader in goals (11) and points (24), Lekas brought plenty of firepower to her four seasons as a Bobcat. She finished with 17 career goals and six assists for 40 career points. She ranks fourth in school history in goals and fifth in points. Lekas was a three-time member of the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) All-Academic Team.
A 2019 graduate of Georgia College in Public Health, she will pursue a master's degree in Organizational Leadership with a concentration in Healthcare at Mercer.
