MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Two goals in the first half and three in the second gave the Georgia College Soccer team (10-3-3) a 5-0 shutout over Converse College (2-13) Monday on Senior Day at Bobcat Field.

The seniors showed up on Senior Day, totaling four goals, an assist and recording the shutout in goal.

The win gives GC Soccer 10 victories for the fifth time in head coach Hope Clark's tenure.

Senior Sofia Lekas (Lizella) netted the first goal in the 14th minute, taking a cross from Kayla Ruiz (Milton) and firing a shot that trickled off the hands of the Converse keeper.

Senior Anya Mancinelli (Atlanta) sent one home on a free-kick opportunity just outside the box for a 2-0 halftime lead. The goal was Mancinelli's fourth of the season.

The 60th minute brought Lekas' second goal of the night and her eighth of the season. She took a loose ball in the left corner and worked around two defenders to fire home the third goal of the match.

In the 69th minute, Lekas fired a low cross from the left, and senior Unnbjorg Omarsdottir (Reykjavik, Iceland) dove to head the ball to the back of the net for the 4-0 advantage. The beautiful goal was Omarsdottir's third this season.

A pair of freshman wrapped up the scoring for the night, as the Bergamini twins connected in the 86th minute. Alexis Bergamini (West Suffield, Connecticut) crossed from the right, and Alyssa Bergamini (West Suffield, Connecticut) finished with a rolling ball to the left side.

Senior Ashlee Graham (Decatur) made three saves for the shutout, her eighth of the season and 15th in her career.

Prior to the match the Bobcats honored their eight seniors, as Graham, Lekas, Mancinelli, Omarsdottir, Cheyanne Rentsch (Cape Coral, Florida), Savanna DeValle (Cairo), Amanda Bartholomew (Peachtree City) and practice player Matt Panetta were celebrated for their respective careers.
