MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Senior Faith Flanders (Dublin) of the Georgia College Softball team (22-12, 8-2 PBC) has been named Bobcat Athlete of the Week for her efforts during the week ending March 19. This marks the first such honor for Flanders and the second for Bobcat Softball this season.
Flanders went 1-0 with a save over three appearances this week, totaling just four runs over her 12 1/3 innings for a 2.27 ERA. She made her presence felt in the Georgia Southwestern State University doubleheader, getting a save in 1 2/3 scoreless innings in game one, and a complete game victory in game two, allowing just four hits. Flanders also hit .368 (7-19) for the week, tallying a pair of home runs and 10 RBIs, scoring four times as well. The senior slugged .684, thanks to a pair of home runs Sunday in the nightcap at GSW. For the GSW doubleheader, she went 5-for-8 with two runs scored, two home runs and five RBIs. She also picked up a win and a save in the circle for the two games.
The Bobcats are back in action Friday, March 24 at 5 p.m., playing host to No. 3 University of North Georgia.
