INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA office announced brackets for the 2013 NCAA Softball Regional Tournaments, with No. 24 Georgia College (36-15) taking a No. 7-seed in the Southeast Region.
The Bobcats are set to play Southeast Regional #2 host No. 2-seed Lenoir-Rhyne University (35-14) Friday, May 10 at 4:30 p.m.
The double-elimination tournament also features No. 3-seed University of North Georgia battling No. 6-seed Anderson University at 2 p.m. to kick-off action.
The Bobcats earn a regional bid for the first time since 2009, when they also played the regional round at LRU's Bears Field. Georgia College has won two NCAA Regional Championships, coming in 2006 and 2003.
Lead by Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Coach of the Year Jamie Grodecki, the Bobcats put three on the All-PBC Teams. Senior Dani Gallucci (Orlando, Fla.), junior Whitney Okvist (Kennesaw, Ga.) and freshman Abi LeRoy (Dublin, Ga.) all took slots.
