Martin, Gallucci and Campbell Make PBC All-tournament Team

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Three members of the Georgia College softball team (36-15) were named to the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) All-Tournament Team. The second seeded Bobcats recently finished runner up in the championship game against Columbus State University.

Dani Gallucci (Orlando, Fla.) started three games over the two days of the tournament, earning complete game victories in two. She also clubbed a game-tying home run in the semifinal round.

Kelsea Martin (Dacula, Ga.) was 3-for-7 with four walks on the weekend in addition to providing flawless defense at first base.

Freshman Taylor Campbell (Warner Robbins, Ga.) rounds out the Bobcat selections, as she had one of the more important hits of the weekend, breaking the 3-3 11th inning stalemate between the Bobcats and Francis Marion University with a walk-off home run.

The PBC champions, Columbus State University also had three players named to the team. Highlighting the selections was pitcher Mollie Russell, as she was named Tournament MVP after being named PBC Pitcher of the Year. Russell pitched all 21 innings for the Cougars, allowing only 13 hits while striking out 18 and only walking three.

The Bobcats now await the NCAA regional announcements, as they'll be vying for an at-large bid and first regional appearance since 2009. The NCAA Regional Tournaments are set to begin May 10.
