WINGATE, N.C. – Led by a 20th place finish from sophomore Collin Silliman (Douglasville, Georgia), the Georgia College Men's Cross Country team took fourth place Saturday afternoon at the Bulldog Stampede hosted by Winthrop University.

Freshman Brennan Silliman (Douglasville, Georgia) kept pace with his older brother throughout the race, placing 21st and finishing within a second of Collin's time.  The sibling duo clocked in at a time of 34:54 and 34:55, respectively.

The Bobcat men all finished relatively close to each other with junior Austin Campbell (Cumming, Georgia) coming in shortly behind the Silliman brothers at 29th, recording a time of 35:30.  The next two runners placing for Georgia College were freshman Matt Patterson (Cumming, Georgia) and sophomore Shawn Olmstead (Buford, Georgia) who completed their race at 35:50 and 35:59, respectively.

"The Men faced a tough field today--it was our first real challenge of the season," said head coach Steven Cary. "There were several positives. Campbell ran a great race, and Matt Patterson ran strong. The Silliman brothers had a big race as well. We have some work to do, but we're on the right track."

The Bobcats totaled 129 points for fourth place in the 15-team race.  The men finished behind the third-place Wingate Bulldogs, second-place University of Mount Olive Trojans and the victorious Augusta University Jaguars who recorded just 27 points.

The Georgia College Men are back at it when they host the Bobcat Invitational Friday, Oct. 6.
