ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Georgia College Men's Cross Country team won its second race in as many tries this season, topping the non-Division I field or the "Garnet" race at the Winthrop University/Adidas Cross Country Invitational.

The Bobcats placed three in the top-five and four in the top-10 in besting the nine-team field with just 29 points. West Virginia Wesleyan University came in second with 37 points.

"We have faced a little bit of adversity in the past week and a half, so racing this weekend wasn't an easy call but the men rose to the challenge and handled it well," said head coach Steven Cary. "They ran tough out there and packed well. We're fortunate enough to have a lot of depth, so we took advantage of that today and the guys worked together."

Sophomore Shawn Olmstead (Buford, Georgia) took runner-up honors, finishing the 8K race in 26:58. Freshman Brennan Silliman (Douglasville, Georgia) was third in 26:59, besting his brother sophomore Collin Silliman (Douglasville, Georgia) by one slot and 15 seconds.

Fourth on the team and closing out the Bobcats in the top-10 was sophomore Conner Reynolds (Peachtree City, Georgia), finishing ninth in 28:11. The final scoring runner was senior James Galvin (Tucker, Georgia) in 11th place at 28:23.

The Bobcats have now won two races in the same season, one short of the program record set in 2013.

The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Sept. 23 at the Bulldog Stampede, hosted by Wingate University.
