MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – After an exciting weekend at the Georgia Division II Collegiate Championships at the Council Farm Course, Georgia College cross country's Paul McNeil (Dunwoody) has been voted Bobcat Athlete of the Week.
McNeil had a phenomenal weekend, taking third place out of 86 competitors at the championship meet.
The Bobcat buzzed through the 8K course at a time of 25:57. With the finish, McNeil recorded the second-best time in school history and was just 29 seconds behind the record that he set at last year's Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Championships.
With his fantastic finish, the senior also led the Georgia College team to the runner-up spot as all five scoring Bobcat runners finished within the top-15.
This week was the first time McNeil led the team in overall finish, after leading them six times last season.
McNeil and the Bobcat men will be back in action Saturday, Oct. 4 when they head to Dahlonega for the PBC Championships.
