AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Georgia College men’s cross country program has placed three runners on the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) All-Academic Team, as announced by the conference office in Augusta, Ga. Wednesday afternoon.

Senior Dan Horseman (Cohutta, Ga.) heads the team, earning the distinction for his 3.68 GPA in Outdoor Education. Horseman was also a vital piece to the cross country team on the field this season, leading the Bobcats in three of his six races he competed in.

This marks Horseman’s second consecutive year on the PBC All-Academic squad, while also garnering his second All-PBC Second Team honor in the process.

Joining Horseman on the team are sophomores Tucker Forbes (Lilburn, Ga.) and Philip Laskey (Marietta, Ga.)

Forbes competed in five of GC’s six races this season, with his best race coming in a 28:04 8K effort at the ASU Invitational. The athletic training major currently owns a 3.46 GPA in his third year at Georgia College.

Laskey, a pre-engineering student, has compiled a perfect 4.0 GPA in his two-year stint with the ‘Cats, competing in five races in 2011. He posted a top-10 finish at the Bobcat Invitational, tearing up the 8K home course in just 28:53 for an eighth place finish.

The Bobcats will head to Charlotte, N.C. Saturday, Nov. 5 to compete in the NCAA Southeast Regional Championship.
