GC Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Teams Recognized by USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS – The Georgia College men’s and women’s cross country teams have each been named 2011 United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division II All-Academic Teams as announced last week. 

The Bobcat women finished 13th overall at the NCAA Southeast Regional after finishing seventh at the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Championships. 

Sophomore Allison Lones (Kathleen, Ga.) was recognized individually to USTFCCCA Division II All-Academic Team. The ‘Cats also boasted a PBC All-Academic honoree in senior Victoria Dobson (New Hamburg, Ontario)

The Georgia College men placed a pair of runners on the USTFCCCA Division II All-Academic team, as seniors Dan Horseman (Cohutta, Ga.) and Tyler Mattix (Snellville, Ga.) were recognized. 

The Bobcat men compiled an impressive team GPA of 3.09, with the women earning an equally notable 3.06 team GPA.
