#19 Bobcat Men Take 5-2 Match at Emmanuel

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The No. 19 Georgia College Men's Tennis team (11-5) picked up a 5-2 victory at Emmanuel College (5-10) in non-conference play Tuesday.

The Bobcats took the doubles point, sweeping all three slots.

The No. 7 duo of Robin Möller (Hamburg, Germany) and Matt Rogel (Sautron, France) took down Juan Carlos Romero and Enrique Alcacer with haste, 6-0. Möller and Rogel are now 14-2 this year, including nine-straight victories.

Senior Jannik Kumbier (Neumünster, Germany) and sophomore Noah Wallace (Grayson) followed with a 6-2 defeat of Jorge Canadas and Lucas Hideo Sasaki, the 10th win this season for the Bobcat duo. With the doubles point already decided, junior Nathan Connelly (McDonough) and sophomore Enzo Kohn (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) teamed for a 7-6 win over Kornel Kimagzweski and Juan Carlos Burgos Torres.

GC took a quick 2-0 lead when No. 6 Möller nearly shut out Romero in the first slot 6-0, 6-1. Möller moves to a team-best 13-2 this season. Then came a Rogel victory over Thembokwakhe Makhanya in the second slot, 6-3, 6-1. It marked the 10th singles win for Rogel this year. Kohn clinched the team victory with the next finish in fifth singles, speeding past Canadas in a pair of 6-3 sets.

Connelly stumbled against Alcacer 6-4, 6-1 in the sixth slot, then Kumbier beat Kimagzweski 6-2, 7-6. The match wrapped up with the lone three-setter, where Wallace fell to Sasaki 6-1, 4-6, 10-5.

The Bobcats are back in action Thursday, April 4 at 3 p.m. traveling to No. 14 USC Aiken (11-2, 4-2 PBC). The Pacers most recently lost at home to No. 7 Flagler College Saturday.
