#20 Bobcat Men’s Tennis Tops #33 Young Harris, 6-3

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – Down 2-1 after doubles action, the No. 20 Georgia College men's tennis team (5-2, 3-1 PBC) rebounded with five singles wins for a 6-3 win Saturday at No. 33 Young Harris College (4-4, 1-4 PBC).

The Bobcats got their doubles win in the first slot, but even that didn't come easy. No. 21 Yannick Hass (Troisdorf, Germany) and Vincent Castermans (France) teamed for a 9-8 win over Sebastian Edin and William Edin. Hass and Castermans improve to 4-2 on the year.

In second doubles, Taylor Powell (Martinez) and Jannik Kumbier (Neumunster, Germany) dropped an 8-6 decision to Raul Quevedo and Guilherme Frias. Third doubles brought an 8-4 defeat for the Bobcats, as Mattia Campus (Concorezzo, Italy) and Pedro Ecenarro (Santiago de Compostela, Spain) lost to Daniel Tiboldi and Brecht Vangrinsven.

No. 22 Hass quickly evened the score in the first slot, beating Sebastian Eden, 6-4, 6-3. The first lead of the match came after Powell picked up a 7-6, 6-0 win over Quevedo. After a 6-7, 6-4, 6-2 loss for Anton Waern (Taby, Sweden) in the fourth slot to Tiboldi, the Bobcats ran the table.

Kumbier bumped up to the second slot to beat Frias 6-7, 6-2, 6-4. Campus clinched the team match with a win over Frederico Terreni in fifth singles, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. Campus stays undefeated in singles action this season at 3-0. The final match also went Georgia College's way, as Ecenarro beat Vangrinsven 7-6, 5-7, 6-2 to close the day. Ecenarro is now a team-best 7-0 on the year.  

The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday, March 11 taking on both No. 47 Florida Tech and Coker College in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
