Simpson Takes Second Bobcat Athlete of the Week Honor

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Sophomore guard Wesley Simpson (DeLand, Florida/Union Grove HS (Ga.)) of the Georgia College Men's Basketball team (5-7, 2-2 PBC) has been named Bobcat Athlete of the Week for his efforts during the week ending Jan. 5. This is the second such honor for Simpson this season.

Simpson put together his third double-double of the season in the matchup with Peach Belt Conference (PBC) leader USC Aiken. He had a career-best 26 points with 10 boards and five assists.

The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 7:30 p.m., playing host to Columbus State University.

The Georgia College Department of Athletics, two-time winners of the PBC Commissioner's Cup and the 2017 PBC Sportsmanship Institution of the Year, sponsors 11 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level.
