MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Senior Desmond Mitchell LaFlam (New Smyrna Beach, Florida) of the Georgia College Men's Basketball Team (11-6, 6-5 PBC) has been named Bobcat Athlete of the Week.
LaFlam has averaged 17.5 points, 6.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds per contest over a pair of Bobcat wins. In the home game against The University of North Georgia Saturday, he went 7-for-7 from three-point range, which is the best in school history, and tying the Peach Belt Conference record.
He went 6-for-6 in the second half, finishing the game with 23 points on 8-for-8 from the floor, adding six assists and a pair of rebounds.
Due to Inclement weather The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) double-header against Young Harris, which was supposed to take place Wednesday, Jan. 30 has been rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 4 at Young Harris College. The women's game will begin at 5:30 p.m and the men's following at 7:30 p.m. Bobcat Basketball will be heading to Francis Marion University Saturday, Feb. 2, with the women's tip-off scheduled for 1:30 p.m. and the men's set for 3:30 p.m.
