GC Men’s Hoops Dominates Paine at Clark Atlanta Classic, 83-51.

ATLANTA, Ga. -  The Georgia College Men's Basketball team (2-1) got off to a hot start Friday night at the Clark Atlanta Classic defeating the Paine College Lions (1-3), 83-51.

With another strong offensive performance, Georgia College has now recorded 85 or more points in their last two games.  Freshman Jordan Thomas (Conyers) led the Bobcats with 18 points while also tallying three steals, two assists and a pair of rebounds.

Georgia College wasted no time getting their offense rolling, jumping out to a nine point lead through the first five minutes. The Lions cut their deficit to as low as seven at the 12 minute mark, but the Bobcat offense took off and went on a 17-4 run over the next seven minutes to take a 36-16 lead. The Bobcats took a 42-23 lead into the break.

It was much more of the same in the second half for the Blue and Green. Georgia College went on another huge 17-2 run through the first three minutes of the second half, putting the game out of reach for the Lions. The Bobcats extended their lead as high as 40 points which came with three minutes remaining in the ballgame.

Senior Desmond Mitchell-LaFLam (New Smyrna Beach, Florida) recorded his second-straight game in double digits with 13 points while adding a season-high seven assists, four rebounds and three steals.

The Bobcats had a solid night beyond the arc shooting just under 50 percent with Thomas going a perfect 3-for-3 from long distance.

Georgia College is right back at in Atlanta tomorrow when they square off against the hosting Clark Atlanta University Panthers Saturday, Nov. 18 at 5 p.m.
