HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – The Georgia College golf team sits in 10th place after two rounds of play at Mission Inn Resort and Club in Florida. The Bobcats as a team are 44 strokes behind leader Lynn University, but place just three strokes under Peach Belt Conference (PBC) rivals Georgia Southwestern State University.

Freshman Matias Chiappero (Santa Fe, Argentina) shot two solid rounds in the mid-70s during Monday's day one action. His six-over score puts him T-18 on the leaderboard going into Tuesday. Chiappero recorded two birdies on the par-four 13th and par-five 14th in the second round. He followed the birdies with four straight pars, sending him to the clubhouse two shots better than his first-round 76.

Junior Harry Lambert (Suwannee, Georgia) was the second-best Bobcat after day one. He finished round two at T-38, shooting 10-over par. In round two, Lambert came back from bogeying more than half of the front nine with a Bobcat-leading four birdies on the back, including a three-shot birdie on 18.

Senior David Sullivan (Woodstock, Georgia) will look to improve tomorrow after a pair of 80s today, finishing T-71 and behind teammates and juniors Harrison Stewart (Roswell, Georgia) and Conner Albright (Macon, Georgia). Stewart also struggled in the first round, shooting the team-high 82, but he significantly improved with only three bogeys and one birdie in the second round 74. Stewart sits 51st, while Albright is 61st after rounds of 78 and 80.

The field on the par-72, 7,015-yard course features 10 teams in the top 30 of the GolfStat Head-to-Head Rankings. Eight of the 10 teams ahead of Georgia College are on the list, including leader No. 10 Lynn, host No. 1 Saint Leo University, No. 2 Chico State University, No. 4 Nova Southeastern University, No. 5 Florida Southern College, No. 11 Lee University, No. 17 GSW, and No. 20 Carson-Newman University. The Bobcats are ahead of No. 13 University of North Alabama and No. 28 Delta State University.

Bobcats will try to capitalize on small deficits and move quickly up the leaderboard in tomorrow's round.
