DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The No. 23 Georgia College golf team carded a final round 300 Tuesday at the University of North Georgia Fall Invitational. The score, combined with rounds of 300 and 288 yesterday gives the Bobcats a three-round score of plus-24, finishing 12th among 17 teams.
Junior Harrison Stewart (Roswell) was first on the team and 33rd overall at three-over par. Stewart posted rounds of 75, 70 and a 74 today on the par-72, 6,967-yard Achasta Golf Club course. The Bobcat junior has now finished tops on the team in two of the three tournaments this season.
Finishing 47th in the 90-golfer field was sophomore Thomas Hodges (Monroe), shooting rounds of 72, 73 and a 77 today. Hodges was six-over par. Seven-over in 53rd place was senior David Sullivan (Woodstock) posting a 77 today to go with yesterday's 78 and 68.
No. 25 Lee University took the team title at a massive 28-under par, just four strokes ahead of Carson-Newman University in second place. Of the 10 teams in front of the Bobcats, four are nationally-ranked, including the Lee Flames, No. 15 University of West Georgia, No. 19 Georgia Southwestern State University, and No. 12 Columbus State University.
The Bobcats are back in action Monday, Oct. 26, traveling to the McDonough Cup in Orlando, Florida.
