KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – On the strength of fifth-place finishes from both Harry Lambert (Suwanee, Georgia) and Harrison Stewart (Roswell, Georgia) the Georgia College Golf Team took second place at the 2015 Kiawah Island Invitational Tuesday.
The Bobcats started their season off on the right foot, carding a 289 to go with yesterday's 290, finishing three-over par and tied with Flagler College. The pair finished six strokes behind team champion USC Aiken.
Lambert and Stewart had doppelganger rounds, each shooting 70 yesterday and 72 today to finish at two-under. The Bobcat duo finished fifth in the 90-golfer field, just three strokes off the lead.
Third on the squad and 31st overall was senior David Sullivan (Woodstock, Georgia) posting an even-par 72 today with yesterday's 77, good for five-over. A stroke behind Sullivan was Thomas Hodges (Monroe, Georgia), six-over in 34th after rounds of 73 and 77. Rounding out the scores for the Bobcats was Thomas Knight (Eastman, Georgia) firing a counting round of 73 today, paired with yesterday's 79 for eight-over in 47th.
The Bobcats are back in action Monday, Sept. 21 at the Flagler Invitational in St. Augustine, Florida.
