Bobcat Golf Keeps Second Slot in National Coaches Poll

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Georgia College & State University men’s golf team and head coach Jimmy Wilson maintained its position as the second-best squad in all of Division II, according to the most recent Golf World/Nike Golf Coaches Poll, released Wednesday. This week marks the second-straight that the Bobcats have been listed No. 2.

The Bobcats are tops among the four Peach Belt Conference (PBC) teams listed, with Lander University owning the only other top-10 spot at No. 7. Flagler College is tied for 16th, while USC Aiken slips three spots to No. 23.

Georgia College is behind only No. 1 Barry University, who picked up 13 of a potential 16 first-place votes. The Bobcats nabbed one of the extra three, as did No. 3 Chico State and No. 8 University of Central Missouri.

The Bobcats are back in action Monday, March 22 at Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee, hosting the Bobcat Invitational featuring 13 teams ranked in the GolfStat national top-30.
