GC Baseball’s King Takes Win in CPL All-Star Semifinal

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Georgia College Baseball righthander Kyle King (Johns Creek) picked up a win for the Fan Vote All-Star squad Monday against the Hometown Savannah All-Stars in the semifinal round of the Coastal Plain League All-Star Showdown.

King was drafted from the Semifinal Pitchers Pool to the Fan Vote All-Stars. The Bobcat senior was also tabbed for the start in the three-inning exhibition. King tossed a scoreless first with two swinging strikeouts as the Fan Vote team won 4-0 to move on to the CPL All-Star Championship. The East All-Stars won that matchup 2-1.

King has been one of the best hurlers in the league, going 3-1 with a 2.16 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 25 innings for the Gastonia Grizzlies. Opponents have hit just .124 against the hard-throwing righty.
