Bobcat Baseball Alums in Pro Baseball

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Get an update on former Georgia College student-athletes working their way through the ranks of professional baseball. 

Josh Taylor (2014)
Pitcher for the Pawtucket Red Sox, the Boston Red Sox Class AAA affiliate in the International League … Got the call-up to the majors May 29, pitched in five games … Had four strong innings, then got touched up by Tampa Bay for four runs June 8 before getting sent back to Triple-A June 10 … Hasn't pitched since returning to Pawtucket, but went 1-1 with three saves and a 2.91 ERA in 19 games earlier this season … Tallied 29 strikeouts in 21 2/3 innings.


Brandon Benson (2017)
Outfielder for the Peoria Chiefs, Class A Full Season affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals in the Midwest League … Is 5-for-24 this season, scoring five runs and driving in a pair … Hit a home run June 5 against the Quad City River Bandits.


Brandon Purcell (2018)
On the roster as a catcher for the Gulf Coast Cardinals, Rookie League affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals in the Gulf Coast League.


Michael Antonini (2007)
Pitcher for the Somerset Patriots in the independent Atlantic League … Has made 19 relief appearances, owning a 1.50 ERA and a 1-1 record with a league-high 16 saves … Tallied 21 strikeouts in 18 innings … Picked up 16th save in 4-3 win over York Revolution June 9, getting the final three outs with one hit … The Patriots are 26-18, second in the Liberty Division.
