MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) recently announced its All-Southeast Region Baseball team, with senior third baseman Garrett Green (Bogart) earning a spot on the second team for Georgia College.
Green hit .341this season with 28 RBIs and 30 runs scored. He also ripped 13 doubles as the senior brings in his highest career postseason honor.
All-time, GC Baseball has earned 28 All-Region honors from this system, eight of which coming during the three seasons with Jason Eller as head coach. Green becomes just the second All-Region third baseman through this organization in school history, joining Cal Gentry in 2017.
The loss brings a close to the season for GC Baseball, a year in which they went 26-21, reaching as high as No. 6 in the nation. GC put four on the All-PBC Teams this season, led by seniors Green and Wesley Wommack on the first team, with Gentry and PBC Freshman of the Year Cam Hill as second-team selections. Georgia College also landed eight on the PBC All-Academic Team.
The D2CCA All-America programs honor student-athletes in Division II athletic programs. The mission of the CCA is to encourage and promote Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The voting, nomination and calculations are all conducted by the school's sports information directors. The teams are voted on by the members of D2SIDA, NCAA Division II Sports Information Directors Association.
