MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Senior outfielder Wesley Wommack (Monroe) of the Georgia College Baseball team (26-21) was named Bobcat Athlete of the Week for his efforts during the week ending May 12.
Wommack swatted a pair of home runs in the three Bobcat games during pool play of the tourney. The senior finished the final action of his career going 4-for-10 with three RBIs and four runs scored.
The loss brings a close to the season for GC Baseball, a year in which they went 26-21, reaching as high as No. 6 in the nation. GC put four on the All-PBC Teams this season, led by seniors Garrett Green and Wommack on the first team, with Cal Gentry and PBC Freshman of the Year Cam Hill as second-team selections.
