MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Get an update on former Georgia College student-athletes working their way through the ranks of professional baseball.


Josh Taylor (2014)

Pitcher for the Jackson Generals of the Double-A Southern League, affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks … Is 4-5 with a 4.68 ERA for the Generals appearing in 19 games … Has made Has allowed just two earned runs over his last five relief outings, dating back to July 7 … Most recent effort was a scoreless eighth against Birmingham, not allowing any hits in the 3-0 Generals loss … Team went 37-33 in the first half, good for second in the Southern League North Division, and now stands 12-14 in the second half.


Brandon Benson (2014-17)

Outfielder for the State College Spikes of the Single-A Short Season New York-Penn League, affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals … Has played in 17 games, hitting .293 with two home runs, 12 RBIs and 14 runs … Had a monstrous game July 6 against Williamsport, going 4-for-5 with six RBIs, two runs and a grand slam … Team is now 17-12, tied for first in the Pickney Division.


Daniel Bick (2011-14)

Shortstop for the Ottawa Champions of the independent Can-Am League … Hitting .275 with four home runs and 19 RBIs in his 54 games this season … Has also stolen 18 bases and scored 34 runs … Team is now 27-30, good for fourth in the league standings … Helped lead team to league championship in 2016.
