Fifth Bobcat Professional Baseball Update

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – This is the fifth update on former Georgia College student-athletes working their way through the world of professional baseball.

Michael Antonini (2007)
Pitcher for the Chattanooga Lookouts of the Double-A Southern League, affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers … Has compiled a 3-6 record thus far with a 6.61 ERA in 57 1/3 innings of work … Antonini has a fantastic strikeout-to-walk ratio, currently sitting at 4-to-1 … He was brilliant in his most recent start, lasting six shutout innings, allowing five hits, no walks and fanning five against the Huntsville Stars May 28 … Opponents are hitting .260 against Antonini this season.

Andy Reichard (2007)
Pitcher for the San Jose Giants of the Class A Advanced California League, affiliate of the San Francisco Giants … Reichard has thrown in nine games with three starts, compiling an ERA of 2.30 and a 3-0 record in 31 1/3 innings of work … Opponents are hitting .258 off the righty … Got the win in his most recent start, going five shutout innings, on three hits in a victory over the Stockton Ports May 30 … Has picked up wins in three of his last four appearances.

Alex Burkard (2010)
Burkard is in rookie ball pitching for the AZL Angels … Their season has yet to get underway.

Martin Dewald (2010)
The righty has signed a contract to play for the River City Rascals Independent Frontier League … He has yet to give up a run in three appearances, surrendering a pair of hits and one walk in two innings while fanning a pair … Went a shutout inning in the 8-1 loss to the Florence Freedom May 29.

Brendan Malkowski (2010)
The righthander has signed on to play for the Southern Illinois Miners of the Independent Frontier League … He has made two starts, going 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA and six strikeouts over 12 innings … Against the Normal CornBelters May 27, he threw seven innings with two earned runs on eight hits, fanning four.
