MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – For the third-straight season, the Georgia College Women’s Cross Country team takes team GPA honors in the Bobcat Athletic Department, edging out Bobcat Women’s Tennis for this year’s top team GPA. The GC women harriers posted a 3.61 GPA combined for the two semesters, leading the 11 Bobcat varsity sports teams.
Women’s Tennis led after the fall semester at 3.54, but the Women’s Cross Country Spring GPA of 3.73 helped the team take the lead. Women’s Tennis was a close second at 3.60. Softball came in third at 3.453, edging Women’s Basketball at 3.450.
In fifth was GC Soccer, owning a 3.44 GPA, followed by Volleyball at 3.43. Bobcat Men’s Cross Country was the top men’s program for Georgia College in seventh overall at 3.33, edging GC Men’s Tennis at 3.04.
The athletic department as a whole posted a 3.22 GPA for the year, once again out-performing the general student body during the 2014-15 school year. The Bobcats were balanced, with a 3.23 in the spring and a 3.22 in the fall.
The Georgia College Department of Athletics, two-time winners of the PBC Commissioner's Cup, sponsors 11 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level.
