MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Katherine Yost (Norcross) flew to a school record time and a first-place finish as the Georgia College Women's Cross Country Team ran to a third-place finish in front of a home crowd on Friday night at the 2017 Bobcat Cross Country Invitational.
Yost clocked in at 21:44.90, taking home a first-place finish, breaking her own school record in the 6K run by just nine 100ths of a second and falling short of the Council Farm Corse record by only one second. Yost has won two-straight Bobcat Invitational races, and four-straight races this season.
Tessa Allen (Atlanta) set a personal best and finished 22nd with a time of 24:12.20 and Grace Lynch (Lawrenceville) grabbed 24th with a 24:24:80 mark. Sydney Brown (Canton) took 27th after finishing with a personal best time of 24:33.70, and Rebecca Winslow (Lawrenceville) rounded out the top-five for the Bobcats with a time of 24:42.40.
The Bobcats finished behind runner-up Augusta University, and invitational winner the University of North Georgia.
The next time Georgia College runs it will be for the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Championship on Oct. 21 in Columbus.
