MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Senior Katherine Yost (Norcross) of the Georgia College Women's Cross Country team has been named the first Bobcat Athlete of the Week for the new school year. Yost takes the honor for her efforts during the week ending Sept. 3.
Yost bested her own school record in the 5K by 48 seconds Friday night at the VSU Border Clash at Valdosta State University, winning the race and leading the Georgia College Women's Cross Country team to a runner-up finish. Yost finished in 18:09, topping the 82-runner field by 40 seconds and beating her previous 5K record, set at the 2016 Trevecca D2 Showcase.
The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Sept. 9 as the team will split squads to the Joe I. Vigil open at Adams State University and the Jaguar Invitational at Augusta University.
