MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Volleyball program and head coach Gretchen Krumdieck released the 2017 Bobcat Volleyball schedule Wednesday, featuring 13 home matches as well as Georgia College hosting the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Volleyball Tournament for the second-straight season.
"This is an exciting time for our volleyball program," said Krumdieck. "The team has worked hard in the spring and over the summer to continue the winning tradition that was established in 2016. We are looking forward to being competitive in the Peach Belt and in the Southeast Region. I think we are setup well with a strong schedule and very motivated group coming in this Fall. I know we are all looking forward to start the season at home with the Bobcat Classic and hosting the PBC Tournament again."
Play starts at home Sept. 1-2 as GC Volleyball hosts the two-day Bobcat Classic. Georgia College takes on Emmanuel College and Valdosta State University on day one, followed by Lees McRae College and Anderson University on day two.
PBC play begins on the road at Augusta University Sept. 19. The first home conference matchup is slotted for Sept. 26 against Lander University.
Senior Day is the final match of the regular season, coming Nov. 12 against Flagler College, as the Bobcats honor their lone senior in Chandler Ewaldsen (Savannah).
The seven-team PBC Championship will be held in the Centennial Center Nov. 17-19.
GC Volleyball is coming off its best season in the young history of the five-year program, qualifying for the PBC Tournament and tallying the first winning record in school history at 17-14.
