Georgia College Athletics Puts 96 on PBC Presidential Honor Roll
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced its Presidential Honor Roll recipients, with 96 Georgia College student-athletes making the list. The program honors all student-athletes with a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the 2012-13 academic year.

INDIANAPOLIS – The Georgia College department of athletics finished in the top-100 of the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup Standings this season, taking 86th in postseason finishes among 255 NCAA Division II schools.

Johnson Earns All-Academic Honors, Lingner and Marevic Honorable Mentions
AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) recently announced the 2013 Women’s Tennis All-Academic Team with three members from Georgia College (16-12) earning honors. Senior May Johnson (Sydney, Australia) was awarded a spot on the team while fellow senior Michelle Lingner (Dunwoody, Ga.) and junior Ivana Marevic (Rottweil, Germany) earned honorable mentions.

Bobcat Women Drop Regional Final to Armstrong, 6-0
SAVANNAH, Ga. – The No. 4-seed Georgia College women’s tennis team (16-12) finished off their 19th consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament Monday morning with a 6-0 loss to the No. 1-seed Armstrong. (26-1). The last time a Georgia College women’s tennis team did not make the NCAA Regional Tournament senior May Johnson (Sydney, Australia) was only five years old.

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Georgia College women’s tennis team (16-11) entered the NCAA Southeast Subregional as the No. 4-seed, taking on the No. 5-seed Augusta State University (16-9). The Bobcats led throughout the morning and finished the match with a 5-3 victory.

INDIANAPOLIS – The regional seeding was announced Tuesday evening by the NCAA and the Georgia College women’s tennis team (15-11) earned a place in the Southeast Region. The Bobcats have now made the NCAA Regionals for the 19th consecutive year.

Bobcat Women Finish Fourth in PBC Tournament, Drop Third Place Match 5-0
FLORENCE, S.C. – The No. 5-seed Georgia College women’s tennis team (15-11) finished their run in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament Sunday afternoon taking on the No. 3-seed Francis Marion University (22-3) in the third place match. The Bobcats dropped the match 5-0, finishing in fourth place.

No. 5-Seed GC Women’s Tennis Battles No. 1-Seed Armstrong, Falls 5-0
FLORENCE, S.C. – Less than 24-hours after finishing their six-hour marathon win in the quarterfinals, the No. 5-seed Georgia College women’s tennis team (15-9) was back in action at the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament. The Bobcats drew the No. 1-seed Armstrong Pirates (22-1) in the semifinals. The Bobcats battled the Pirates throughout the afternoon, but were felled 5-0.

No. 5-Seed Bobcats Down No. 4-Seed Clayton State in Marathon Match, 5-4
SUMTER, S.C. – Over six hours after the match began, senior Michelle Lingner (Dunwoody, Ga.) clinched the victory for the Georgia College women’s tennis team (15-9) with a 7-6, 2-6, 6-1 victory over Raluca Pavel in the No. 5 singles slot. The No. 5-seed Bobcats defeated No. 4-seed Clayton State University (8-10) after losing at Morrow, Ga. earlier in the season.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The NCAA released its second round of Division II Tennis Region Rankings this week, with the Georgia College men’s (17-4) and women’s (14-9) tennis teams ranked top five in the Southeast, landing the No. 4 and No. 5 spots, respectively.

SUMTER, S.C. – The Georgia College women’s tennis team (14-9) blitzed through the end of the season, going 7-1 in the final eight to take the No. 5 seed at this weekend’s Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament, the conference office announced. The Bobcats open the bracket taking on No. 4-seed Clayton State University (8-9) Friday, April 12 at 8 a.m.

#43 Bobcats Drop Just 12 Games En Route to 9-0 Win Against Clark Atlanta
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. The No. 43 Georgia College women's tennis team (14-9) finished the regular season Tuesday afternoon when they welcomed Clark Atlanta University (13-8) to the Centennial Center Tennis Facility. The Bobcats controlled the entire match, winning 9-0 and only losing 12 total games, 11 in singles play and just one in doubles.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The No. 43 Georgia College women’s tennis team (10-8, 4-5 PBC) returned the Centennial Center Tennis Facility for the first time in the last eight matches. They faced off against UNC Pembroke (9-9, 2-9 PBC) and controlled the entire match, finishing 7-2.

MORROW, Ga. – The No. 18 Georgia College women’s tennis team (7-8, 3-4 PBC) jumped out to an early lead Wednesday afternoon against No. 50 Clayton State University (6-4, 4-2 PBC), but the Bobcats faltered late and dropped the match 6-3.

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The No. 18 Georgia College women’s tennis team (7-7) took on the No. 35 IUP Crimson Hawks (3-5) in a neutral site game at Augusta, Ga. Monday afternoon. The Bobcats jumped to an early lead and held off the Hawks for the 5-4 win.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College women’s tennis team (4-6) took on the Lewis University Flyers (3-2) during the Illinois school’s spring break trip through Georgia. The teams were close throughout the afternoon, but the Bobcats finished on the losing end of the 6-3 score.

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The No. 18 Georgia College women’s tennis team (3-5) dropped a close neutral-site match against No. 16 Florida Tech (6-3) Monday afternoon. The Bobcats were playing shorthanded, starting off the afternoon down 2-0. They would battle back but come up short 5-4.
