AUGUSTA, Ga. – Powered by a big first half, the Georgia College Women's Basketball team (2-5, 1-1 PBC) beat Augusta University 66-56 for the Bobcats' first Peach Belt Conference (PBC) win of the young season.

Senior power led the way, as three of the four double-digit scorers are in their final seasons as Bobcats. First-year senior Jasmine McSwain (Marietta) led Georgia College with 14 points, her fifth-straight game with double-digit scoring. She yanked down seven boards and pulled in three steals as well.

Senior Shay Tarver (Covington) added 13 points off the bench, the guard seeing her first action after missing earlier games with an injury. She did nearly half of her damage at the free-throw line, hitting all six of her attempts. Classmate Erin Drynan (Chicago, Illinois) had her first double-double of the year and the seventh of her two-year Bobcat career. She hit for 12 points and 12 rebounds, including seven on the offensive glass.

Rookie Harper Vick (Marietta) had 10 points, five rebounds and four assists to help the cause, her third double-digit scoring effort, all as a reserve.

The Bobcats led 11-9 at the end of the first quarter and 32-24 at the end of the half. The Bobcats made their final six free throw attempts to close out the game in style.

Georgia College demolished the Jaguars in rebounds 44-28, controlled points in the paint 32-16 and got more bench points 34-6.

The Bobcats are back in action Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 5:30 p.m., traveling to Lander University.
