GC Women’s Cross Country Wins Team GPA Award; Department Records 3.24 GPA

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – For the fourth straight year, the Georgia College Department of Athletics boasted a GPA above the 3.2-mark, recording a department-wide 3.24 GPA average. The Bobcat Women’s Cross Country team ran away with the team GPA honors, posting an impressive number of 3.79.

 

The fight for second place was a close one as Soccer finished with a 3.46, just edging Women’s Tennis and Men’s Cross Country, who both finished with a 3.41. Overall, eight of Georgia College’s 11 teams averaged a team GPA in excess of 3.0.

 

Women’s Cross Country’s 3.79 GPA shattered the program record of 3.68 set in 2016-17. Also snapping a record was Georgia College Baseball who finished with a team GPA of 3.20, an improvement from the prior record of 3.14 set in 2016-17.

 

The Athletic Department as a whole saw a slight improvement in the Spring semester, posting a 3.28 GPA compared to Fall’s 3.21. Men’s Basketball saw the biggest improvement between semesters, jumping nearly half a point in the Spring.
