MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Softball team (21-14, 3-1 PBC) got two strong pitching efforts in a sweep of USC Aiken (13-15, 0-4 PBC) 5-2 and 6-0 Sunday at the Peeler Complex.

Game one was a complete-game effort from senior Kayla Price (Indian Land, South Carolina) scattering eight hits and three walks for just two runs. Price fanned six, improving to 4-1 on the season.

Catcher Haley Howell (Rochelle) had the big bat, going 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. The Bobcats took advantage of five Pacer errors, as just three of the five runs were earned for the contest.

Sophomore lefty Rebecca Lawrence (Vidalia) somehow improved upon her previous start in game two, coming an infield single from a perfect game. Pacer leadoff hitter Deja Robinson hit a slow roller to Lawrence's right side to start the game, and after it rolled through to Amber Coy (Warner Robins) at short, Robinson was able to beat the throw.

Lawrence (5-5) faced one shy of the minimum for the contest, sitting down the final 21 batters in a row. She fanned eight Pacer batters, including three of the final six outs. The last perfect game for Bobcat Softball was spun by Cathy Chandler April 22, 2003 against Albany State University.

A four-run third was highlighted by a two-run home run from catcher Jessie Barre (Pooler), the first of the freshman's career.

Second baseman Ariel Edenfield (Dublin) was 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI single in the third.

The Bobcats are back in action Sunday, March 26 at noon, playing host to UNC Pembroke.
