CARROLLTON, Ga. – The Georgia College Softball squad's (6-6) hitters had trouble solving the riddle of University of West Georgia (7-5) pitching Thursday, dropping both ends of a doubleheader 4-1 and 8-0.

Game one was close, with the Bobcats actually out-hitting the Wolves 9-7. Georgia College scored in the first on an RBI single from Haley Howell (Rochelle) but a four-run fourth was all UWG would need.

Sophomore Jessie Morris (Vidalia) fell to 4-2 in 3 2/3 innings of work. Raya Moncus (1-0) scattered nine hits and struck out seven over a complete game. Howell finished 2-for-3 with the RBI.

Game two was a run-shortened five innings, as the Bobcats managed just one hit off Morgan Goree (1-2). Sophomore Rebecca Lawrence (Vidalia) took the loss in the four-inning outing.

Georgia College is back in action Saturday, Feb. 16 at 1 p.m. as they host Belmont Abbey College for Homecoming.
