MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – With an early-season tournament getting cancelled the Georgia College Softball program and head coach Jamie Grodecki has added a trip to Melbourne, Florida for the Space Coast Tournament Feb. 22-24.
The Bobcats will play five games over three days, starting with Barry University Friday, Sept. 22 at 6:30 p.m.
Saturday brings a doubleheader with Florida Tech and No. 22 Palm Beach Atlantic University. Then the Bobcats close with another doubleheader, taking on Converse College and once again taking on the Barry Bucs.
PBAU is the most formidable of the four, going 36-8 in 2018 and qualifying for one of the NCAA South Regional sites. The Bobcats faced just one of these four opponents a season ago, a 9-0 win over Converse highlighted by a two-hit shutout from Kayla Price (Indian Land, South Carolina).
The Bobcats get the 2019 campaign underway with their own tournament at the Peeler Complex, taking on Carson-Newman University Saturday, Feb. 2 at 11 a.m.
