Georgia College alum Matt Sutton returns to help coach his former team.
Sutton graduated in December of 2017 after completing his redshirt senior season for the Bobcats. He ran four full seasons for the Bobcats, posting a career best time of 26:48 (8K) at the Furman Invitational in 2015.
After spending five years with the program, Sutton brings a lot of experience and knowledge of the program to the younger runners. “Having someone familiar with the culture and expectations of the program is really beneficial [to the team]” said head coach, Steven Cary.
Cary heaped praise on his new assistant saying, “From an experience standpoint, I don’t know anyone that has worked harder than him as a student-athlete. He battled a lot of adversity throughout his time, but always maintained a positive attitude and put the team needs ahead of his own.”
Cary expects Sutton’s presence to help the runners a lot, especially the newcomers.
