MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College Men's Cross Country team is preparing for the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Championships, set to be held this Saturday, Nov. 3 at Redcliffe Plantation in Beech Island, South Carolina.
It's been an exciting season for the Bobcats, who have finished each week in the top 10 of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCA) Poll. Georgia College has also finished two races in second place, including a second-place finish at the Louisville Classic, which featured a crowded field of 35 teams.
Brothers Brennan Silliman (Douglasville) and Collin Silliman (Douglasville) have shared the role of top-finisher this season, with Brennan Silliman finishing first in three races while older brother Collin Silliman finished first in the Louisville Classic.
Georgia College has also boasted standout performances from freshman Lance Underwood (Blairsville), junior Shawn Olmstead (Buford) and senior Austin Campbell (Cumming), who have been consistent top-five team finishers for the Bobcats.
Georgia College finished third in last year's PBC Championships, just one place behind the all-time school best, set in 2006 when the Bobcats took runner-up in Smiths Station, Alabama.
