Bobcat Alum Takes Athletics Communications Post at DePaul

Cross Country alum Jason Hendrix

CHICAGO – Georgia College Cross Country alum Jason Hendrix was named the new assistant director of athletics communications for Division I DePaul University earlier this month.

Hendrix graduated from Georgia College in 2009, earning his bachelor's degree in business administration. He ran cross country for Georgia College while also receiving the Peach Belt Conference's Presidential Scholar-Athlete Award. In addition, he spent three years assisting the sports information office and served as the school's first-ever bobcat mascot, "Thunder." Hendrix was recently named one of Georgia College's 125 Most Influential Alumni and remains a part of the GC community, serving on the school's Young Alumni Board.

After graduation, Hendrix received his master's degree in sports management at Florida State University. Since then, he has served as the sports information director at West Virginia Tech and Thomas University, and held that position at Georgia Gwinnett College since February 2016.

The Georgia College Department of Athletics, two-time winners of the PBC Commissioner's Cup, sponsors 11 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level.
