ATHENS, Ga. – Georgia College Men's Tennis' Robin Moller (Hamburg, Germany) and Jannik Kumbier (Neumunster, Germany) finished play Saturday at the Southeastern Intercollegiate Championships held at the University of Georgia.
The pair started the day in doubles action, taking on Ayed Zatar and Valentino Caratini of defending NAIA Champion Georgia Gwinnett College. The Bobcat duo were edged 8-6.
Moller was still alive Saturday in the round of 16 for the Division II singles flight. He had a great run Friday, shutting down a pair of Division I opponents. Moller beat Chris Mikrovas of East Tennessee State University and then added a victory over Stetson University's Dennis Moses. Moller gave Daniel Groom everything he could handle in the round of 16, but the UNC Wilmington player edged the Bobcat 1-6, 7-6 (4), 6-1.
The Bobcats are back in action at the ITA Southeastern Regionals Sept. 28-30.
