TEMPE, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its final Division II Men's Tennis Regional Rankings, with Georgia College (11-12, 3-7 PBC) taking the No. 6 spot in the Southeast Region.
The Bobcats sixth in the final ranking this season, with all five in front being Peach Belt Conference (PBC) opponents. Columbus State University takes the top slot, followed by Armstrong State University, Lander University, Flagler College and the University of North Georgia.
Graduate student Christian Graff (Lohmar, Germany) also earned a regional spot as an individual, taking the No. 9 spot, while junior Pedro Ecenarro (Santiago de Compostella, Spain) comes in at No. 11. The pairing of Graff and senior Kyle Kinsler (Suwanee, Georgia) also took tenth in the regional doubles ranks.
Graff finished the season 11-9, largely coming from the first singles spot. The second-year Bobcat posted three wins against nationally-ranked competition. Ecenarro finished 17-5 for the top singles mark on the team, mostly out of the second slot. He had two nationally-ranked victories, and went an amazing 9-1 in conference play. Graff and Kinsler went 10-8 on the season, all in the first slot.
The 2017 season has come to a close for GC Men's Tennis, marking their 11th straight year in making an NCAA Tournament appearance. Graff took top team honors by earning a slot on the All-PBC Second Team in singles.
